The Thinker
What’s the best thing about Christianity on
campus?
![[The Thinker logo]](/graphics/thinker.gif)
- The love and support that you get as well as a great
bunch of friends.
- Knowing there are people you can hug without their
getting the wrong idea (that is, if they want to be hugged
— remember, always ask first!)
- The deep theological debates that go on over a few beers
in Derwent bar on a Monday night after MethAng!
- U.G.M.s
- Having a good set of Christian Societies catering for a
wide variety of Christians from different backgrounds.
- The Cassoc parties at More House!
- The number 42 (think about it)
- Not having to walk very far on a Sunday morning to get to
Heslington Church!
- The fact that you can escape to nearby churches every
Sunday
- Monday night in the bar with Meth-Ang
- The generally good Christian atmosphere that there is on
campus. An excellent Chaplaincy team is complemented by a
good set of Christian Societies. Although these societies do
have their differences, they do seem to work together better
than in a lot of other universities. As an example, in
Christis, there are people from nearly every Christian
Society on campus, working together to produce the
campus’ Christian magazine. To add to this there is a
plethora of good churches in York. The opportunity for
Christian growth in York is enormous — go to it!
- Having a fabulous Christian magazine to read !!!!
Thinker responses should be sent to:
Christis, Societies pigeon holes, The Vaseline
Building. Or by email to submissions@christis.org.uk.
