How far should Christians go in fostering inter-faith
relations?
![[The Thinker logo]](/graphics/thinker.gif)
- All the way …
- By accepting all people for who they are and not simply
using labels of faith, or any other kind.
- “fall in live”
- Showing a genuine interest in the beliefs of someone of
another faith, is an ace way of gaining a chance to speak
about the cross of the Lord Jesus, and the (only) Way of
salvation
- As far as sharing both their Dads.
- Just a little further than wobbling indiscriminately into
the lake.
- If the Jews had not developed interfaith relaions (read
Acts) where would we be now?
- As far as necessary to demonstrate the kind of
uncompromising love shown by Jesus.
- As far as possible without losing sight of the fact that
Jesus is THE way, THE truth and THE life.
- People from other faiths need saving as they are
following a God of their own imagination. As Jesus is THE
way, truth and light nothing they could possibly say or
believe could be of any use. We should direct our attentions
at saving the poor, misguided fools.
- Why should we draw a distinction between our
relationships with those who believe one thing and those who
believe another? If we were serious about leading a life of
unconditional love and compassion, this would surely not be
an issue!
- Giving names to people’s experiences of God is a
futile waste of time. Every attempt of a child of God,
whatever group we arrogantly bracket them in, to seek for
Home is a precious thing, born of individual needs and
desires, and is deserving of total respect.
- As far as takes them closer to God
- However, on a deeper note, falling wholeheartedly into
life is one way of fostering inter-faith relations bcoz when
you immerse yourself completely in God’s creation you
have to engage with those around you of other faiths.
- Listen, learn, live, love!
- Search
together in the silence
to find the seeds of truth
each of us carry
Search together in the silence
to find the seeds of love
each of us carry
Search together in the silence
to find …
… God.
- As far as Jesus would want us to in loving our neighbours
as ourselves.
