The situation was desperate. The Christis Archive was threatening to burst out of its home in Derwent Locker Room and invade La Fontane. As the two-for-one offer had expired, the bill for feeding these ravenous magazines, some of which hadn’t seen the light of day since 1989, would have made significant inroads into the Mark Ford Ambassador to the Beer Gardens of Germany Bursary Fund (which currently stands at two promotional ring pulls). Something had to be done.
One recent Wednesday, something was done. With trained counsellors on hand, the archive was let loose in the Goldfish Bowl and asked about its mother. As a result of this, five of each issue of Christis (ever!) volunteered to return to the locker, to keep their traditions alive. This left lots of issues seeking a new home, where they can infiltrate, educate, subordinate, fascinate, motivate … you get the idea.
We decided to make these issues available to anyone who reads Christis, entirely free. A list of issues available follows, with a brief description of the contents. You can get your paws on these issues by sending me a list of those you want, either by email (acd114@york.ac.uk) or by internal (or external) mail, c/o Langwith College, the University of York, YO10 5DD. I’ll send them to you either by internal mail, for free, or by external mail, for one second class stamp per issue. Any “profit” in stamps will go straight back to Christis to be used by the subscriptions and distributions personages, I expect. If I can’t send you the issue you want, I’ll try to send you a similar one.
So read on and let me know which ones you want!
