The Thinker
How important is music in our worship of God?
![[The Thinker Logo]](/graphics/thinker.gif)
- Important, but not essential. Music can inspire, lift,
support, relax, and generally bring me closer to God, but its
lack does not imply an inferior time with God.
- Music is an aspect, not an end, a tool that’s
all.
- I suppose it should be dead important —
not that it is all the time
- ‘The one who sings prays twice’ — St.
Augustine
- Not as important as football.
- About as important as the silence.
- I can live without it, it is a tool, not a
necessity!!!!
- Very — because I love the way He loves me!
- It depends on the quality of music, just as in any shpere
of my worship. Most of the mind-numbing choruses by people
such as G. Kendrick do absolutley nothing for me, or for my
worship of God. However, songs that actually move me or the
Spirit within me are a vital part of my walk with God.
- Surely this means “how important is music in your
life?” since worship should be about our entire lives.
If I’m a person who likes music, music should feature
in my worship of God.
- It’s on a par with wobbling indiscriminately into
the lake.
