God, Have Mercy on Us

Magnus Smyly, ex-York student, reflects at the end of a year, century and millennium and prays that God will answer our call for mercy and grant a revival in this world.

God, have mercy on us.
We live wealthy, warm and wonderful lives while each year
12 million children die.
God, have mercy on us.

Materialism and individualism sweep the World while
Mr Gates could own forty countries.
God, have mercy on us.

Communications mushroomed around the globe while more know of
McDonalds than Jesus Christ
God, have mercy on us.

Science, technology and man on the moon herald a century of
moral decline and acceptance of other faith paths.
God, have mercy on us.

Century of Hitler, Mother Theresa and Saddam Hussain ends
with 30 wars still going on.
God, have mercy on us.

God, have mercy on us.
Bring us your revival, that you may Bless us and Keep us,
dear Lord.
God, have mercy on us.
