It's often hard to define what Christis is like as a magazine, and to describe the sort of discussion it tries to further. Here's the best way of explaining: six articles from the last four years that we feel show the various viewpoints and subjects that have been discussed, and which in some way argue their point particularly memorably or persuasively.
You'll note from these articles that Christis is no stranger to controversy, and not afraid to admit that religion in general, and Christianity in particular, provokes many different opinions, each of which have as strong a claim to be heard as the next one. Christis does not try to restrict debate in terms of belief or morality, only asking that it should be relevant to a broad discussion of the Christian faith in some way, and that any article carried in these pages should be polite and respectful of those who take up an alternative point of view.

These articles may also show that Christis over the last three years has focused primarily on personal and individual approaches to religion and God. Recently, perhaps, a more ‘journalistic’ style has crept in, with discussion of politics, as well as media issues beginning to feature. Of course, study and analysis of the Bible continues to be a Christis regular, taking a variety of forms, and again encouraging a variety of interpretations and stances. Do see our website, with complete online issues back to Issue 32, for the full story …
Hopefully these past writers should persuade many more, whether new to the University or here for some time, to take up their pens and enter the debate, be it responding to these articles or finding new topics and approaches. Read and enjoy!
