The Thinker:

Should Christian broadcasting stations be allowed in the UK?

Why not? It would be a good means of evangelising and would perhaps also help to get rid of prejudice by non-Christians of what Christians are actually like. As long as it is agreed how to deal with the denominational differences without causing problems.

I'm sure there are useful things that could be done using a Christian broadcasting station but from what I've seen of them on Sky and so forth I can think of many better ways of spending the cash.

Yes, if Christians are prepared to permit Sikh, Muslim, Buddhist Hindu, etc., national broadcasting. Do we have enough radio/TV frequencies to grant equal rights to all? I doubt it!

Definitely. Through United Christian Broadcasters' Sky transmissions, many people have become Christians and many Christians are encouraged every day. Write to the Prime Minister asking for them to be given a radio licence!

They should be allowed, but I don't think Christians should choose to set them up. I think it would be another depressing symptom of an increasingly elitist, isolated and sectarian religious environment, probably dominated by the self-centred concerns of the affluent educated (allegedly), middle classes.
