The Thinker:

[Drawing of a ballot box]

Does God care about the outcome of the General Election?

If God doesn't care, who does?

I wouldn't say he was rooting for a particular party, but I'd hope (and pray) he cared about the process of the election; that no one or no group was hurt or attacked in the campaign.

I'm an atheist, but I think he would as it's quite an important thing.

I'd reckon so, but I doubt it's the most pressing thing on his mind!

The effect politicians can have across the world is immense, both economically, morally, socially etc. People's lives hang in the balance because of these people and they must be responsible. Therefore I think that God is very concerned about who gets elected.

Since politicians have left the Church and religion alone for years, I wouldn't have thought so.

God cares because he wants us, His creation, to be the very best we can be. Surely having the best government for our country comes under this.

When MethAng debated which way Jesus would vote before the last election, they concluded that he would probably abstain.

Can God notice the difference between the parties even if we can't?

The party does not matter; what matters is that the government is fair and just.

The Lord will find a way of working through whoever is in power.

Nobody else does, do they?

I don't care about the General Election, so I don't think God does!

Our God wouldn't be a God worth serving if he didn't care about the kind of events which affect us so much.
