Belief
What do you believe? Or more to the point, why do you believe it? Have you ever sat down and considered this question?
I have, at several points during my life, altered what I believe due to thought provoking arguments or compelling evidence. I think that it is important to consider things very seriously and logically. If you don’t your belief is simply based on blind faith.
Perhaps your belief is predominantly based on the authority of a certain institution. Have you stopped to consider where this institution gets its authority from and if it is necessarily correct? Have you carefully examined how much authority you consider the Bible to carry? Is it ‘the word of God’ or simply a gross mistranslation of badly sourced historical texts? If you do take the Bible as a source of authority it is necessary to consider very carefully how to interpret it. All of these themes are discussed at length in the following articles by Lizzie Freear and Sophie Cartwright.

Life
As your faithful guide through the delights of the Christis life section I would commend it all to your reading. This time we have a selection of articles each enjoyable for their own reasons.
To start with we have a article from Helen Bourne, Love one another? No way! This piece or writing indicates that in today’s Christian society with so much diversity it may be that it is far easier to love our enemies than our fellow Christians.
This is followed by a short comedy play by Oliver Mathew Ward, who reverses the normal atheist mocking Christian situation.
Finally we revert back to Helen Bourne with The 10 Commandments of Worship Songs. The name is self explanatory and personally I like 1, Which basically states that Jesus and Mandy should not be interchangeable in worship songs.
All in all I think this proves to be an interesting section and think that you should read as much as it as time permits.

World
One thing I love about Campus, and to a lesser extent, the world in general, is how many things are happening. Back when I was a fresher, it was agony deciding which of the appetising societies, clubs and activities to get involved in. The world contains so many different types of people, so many different, beautiful things that we should be thankful for, though of course variety does have its complications.
In this section we can read of some of the ‘life in all its fullness’ that we have been promised — Peter Davis writes on the variety of Christian groups on campus and beyond, and Lois Cross considers the variety of types of worship.
Graham Martin and Matthew Walker examine some difficulties that variety of belief and culture can cause.
